What makes a country a country? Who gets to draw borders, declare independence, or call themselves a king?

Fresh from its premiere at the 2026 Tribeca Festival, Micronations explores the fascinating world of self-declared countries and the people who create them. From aspiring monarchs to unconventional nation-builders, this documentary offers a funny, surprising, and thought-provoking look at sovereignty, identity, and belonging.

Join us for a special screening followed by a Q&A with director Joe Kowalski, University of Toronto researcher Robert Motum, and King George 2.0.
