Re.Stance Collective

Re.Stance is coming to Toronto this May for a weekend symposium in partnership with Textile Museum of Canada.

From May 29–31, the program brings together artists, designers, researchers, and cultural practitioners for a multi-day activation centered on circularity, material innovation, and collective futures. Positioned at the intersection of fashion, art, and systems thinking, the symposium explores how contemporary creative practices can reimagine waste, expand material intelligence, and contribute to more regenerative design ecosystems.

The opening night on May 29 at The Combine sets the tone for the weekend with an immersive public activation featuring an upcycled textile exhibition, a curated designer showcase, DJ sets, and live voguing performances.

Across the weekend, additional programming will include panel discussions, screenings, workshops, and community-led conversations that further investigate the future of circular design and the evolving relationship between culture and materiality. Together, these activations aim to create a shared space for experimentation, dialogue, and cross-disciplinary exchange.
