Reclaim Your Voice: Song Circle & Sound Bath for Women who have experienced Abuse & S.A.
Join song-carrier and certified music therapist Michaela for a community song circle to nourish the heart. At the beginning of every lineage there was a fire, a drum, and a song. Elder and community song-leader Laurence Cole reminds that “song is one of our most ancient technologies of belonging.” We gather to remember our innate connection to sound, breath, and rhythm. To play, laugh, cry, and bow in reverence to our collective aliveness. This is a space to bring your joy, your grief, and everything
between. We will explore simple songs and juicy layered harmonies through the oral tradition of call and response. No prior experience with singing is necessary. Whether you are passionate for solo singing, campfire jams, or someone who believes “I am not a singer,” this space is for you.
The gathering will close with a soothing sound bath to support integration and release. A sound bath is a full-body listening experience, featuring live frequencies including crystal singing bowls, voice, drum, and more. These vibrations have been shown to activate therapeutic processes such as regulating the nervous system, softening physical tension, slowing the brainwaves, and cultivating deep cellular rest.
This session is planned to take place outdoors, just prior to sunset. Please wear what makes you feel most comfortable, considering cozy layers and additional props like blanket/mat, journal, water bottle, insect repellent, and a small pillow or folding chair for seating.
Optional: bring one small item that connects you to the earth (stone, feather, flower, fruit) as we build a collective centrepiece of beauty to anchor us.
