PUNK vs RAP

In the 1970s, popular music reached a crossroads, somewhere between disco and classic rock. Out of this moment in timeperhaps because of ittwo of the most important, provocative, and subversive genres in the history of music were born: rap and punk. In this exhibition, images of the iconic players, performances, and situations from the history of punk and rap face off.

We are proud to present a collection of photographers and work never before seen at Analogue Gallery. For our 4th year exhibiting in Scotiabank's Contact Photography Festival, we invite you to come choose your allegiance to the icons that liberated the underground music scene with two very different formulas.

DJ Brett Millius will be spinning vinyl from all featured musicians and more. Where else can you dance to Jay-Z and The Clash while they gaze from behind the lenses of our generations most renowned photographers, and down onto you?
