Poetry Creation Tour

Join poet and TD Public Programmes and Learning Fellow Angelic Goldsky for two poetic response tours at MOCA Toronto. They will lead a creative tour followed by interactive poetic response activities inspired by Kapwani Kiwanga’s Remediation and Athena Papadopoulos’ Bones for Time.

Participants will explore each exhibition through a multi-sensory approach, studying the senses, shapes, metaphors and symbols in each artwork. Visitors will engage with what is felt, seen, heard, known and revered in the works, while connecting it back to their own lived experiences.

Tour Schedule:

• 1:00–2:30 pm — Remediation: Breathing the Geometric Poetry

This tour will explore poetic form and geometry inspired by how plants live with and beyond constraints.

• 3:00–4:30 pm — Bones for Time: Poetic Order & The List Poem

This tour will play with alphabetical order and list subversion.

Both creative tours will conclude with quiet time for individual reflection and writing followed by a sharing circle, where participants who are keen to share their work will have space to do so with no expectations.

This event is free with general admission and is drop-in so no registration is required.
