Photo 101 Course: Core Photography - 4 x 2.5 hour sessions

Photo 101: Core Photography is a practical four-week beginner photography course for people who want to get more out of their DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Designed for beginners, the course takes the mystery out of camera settings and photography fundamentals through clear explanations, hands-on exercises and plenty of opportunities to practice with your own camera. Topics include exposure, focus, depth of field, lenses, composition, creative camera controls and the fundamentals needed to start making more intentional photographs.

Classes are taught in person in Toronto in a small-group environment, with your camera in your hands throughout the course. Each class is 2½ hours, once a week for four weeks, with practical assignments between sessions to help reinforce what you learn.

Photo 101 is ideal for anyone who owns an interchangeable-lens camera but still feels unsure about what all the buttons and settings actually do, or who wants to move beyond simply relying on automatic modes and start understanding how their camera works.

A DSLR or mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera is required. Smartphones and point-and-shoot cameras are not used in the course.

Course fee: $269 CAD. Register at least 10 days before the course start date and receive $30 off.
