All-Set! Editions is pleased to present an album release show for “The Songs Which Are”, the sophomore effort by Pete Johnston's Stranger Still.

Stranger Still performs musical settings of poems by Nova Scotian poet Alden Nowlan (1933-1983), and features Randi Helmers and Mim Adams (voices), Rob Clutton (bass) and Pete Johnston (guitar). Recorded in Nova Scotia in July 2022, “The Songs Which Are” follows 2019’s “Songs of Bread, Wine and Salt” with another batch of Nowlan poems set to music that hovers somewhere between North Atlantic folk music, progressive rock, and Renaissance polyphony.

For this special show we will be joined by special guests organist Andrew Killawee (ex-Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra) and All-Set! mastermind Mike Smith.
