Over the Rainbow: Seduction and Identity

MOCCA presents "Over the Rainbow: Seduction and Identity", in partnership with WorldPride 2014, an exhibition acknowledging many of the familiar archetypes associated with queer culture – sexuality, camp, celebrity, rainbows. The exhibition looks beyond these to examine reciprocal ways that gay and mainstream representation have influenced each other, and in doing so have contributed to shaping aspects of our culture and identities over the last several decades. Artworks from "Over the Rainbow" are drawn from the collection of Salah Bachir and Jacob Yerex.

Featured artists include Stephen Andrews, Attila Richard Lukacs, Public Studio, Justine Kurland, Betty Goodwin, General Idea, Andy Fabo, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Annie Leibowitz, Herb Ritts and many more.

National Gallery of Canada at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art program presents, "Par Amour/ Paramour", an intimate portrayal of gay male sexuality and beauty in the face of mortality. Featuring works by Stephen Andrews, Robert Flack, Jean-Luc Verna and Andrew Zealley.
