Oral Method

ORAL METHOD is an experimental reading series that invites writers and artists to create new work in response to a shared prompt. This project encourages experimental approaches and forms; consideration of the oral and aural elements of language (how it feels to speak! how it feels to listen! writing in anticipation of sharing words IRL and in real time!); and engagement with live reading as an act of community building, performance, and play.

This spring, Ace Hotel Toronto will host three ORAL METHOD events that explore themes related to BREAKAGE—asking writers and artists to consider how breaking up, breaking down, and breaking through can rupture old

meanings, patterns, and selves, and potentially spark new paths or alternative futures. Readings are free, open to the public, and will occur on the evenings of Thursday, April 25 it will feature work from Akash Bansal, Katie Connell, Kalale Dalton-Lutale, Claudia Dey, Saffron Maeve & Emily Chudnovsky
