Opening reception for "Through the Thicket": a mixed- media exhibit

Travel “Through the Thicket” to find the primal & spiritual connection between Earth and Man. This mixed-media exhibit invites viewers to discover the Earth’s strength but also her vulnerability and the deep seeded connection between man and nature - for it is within nature that we find our truths.

On April 1st, at the Steam Whistle Brewing Gallery (255 Bremner Blvd, Toronto) from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., attend the opening reception. Attendance is free and pieces will be available for purchase.

“Through the Thicket is a metaphoric exploration of the relationship between society and the natural world,” explains Tina Tran, illustrator and graphic designer and one of the participating artists. “Despite one’s individual cultural background, a common bond between people can be found in our fascination with the familiar yet mysterious aspects of nature.”

The exhibit features the works of four Toronto-based artists; Michael Rennick, Tina Tran, William J. Grantham and Liz Emirzian. Each artists brings to life their unique interpretation, from the whimsical to the thought-provoking, of the link between man and nature and this spiritual part of the psyche that knows no cultural or religious boundaries. Take the journey “Through the Thicket” and learn its truths.

Opening reception: April 1st, 2015 7-11pm

Length of exhibit: April 1st to 30th (during brewery’s regular opening hours)
