OPENING PARTY - To Be Seen: Artistic Dialogues About Body Image

Join us for a fun evening of art, music, and meaningful conversations at the opening party of our art exhibit about body image on Thursday, May 23 at the Combine, a vibrant community-driven social club and creative hub located in Toronto’s entertainment core. Free admission, RSVP required! (Eventbrite)

Sheena's Place, a community-based charity that provides timely services for individuals affected by eating disorders throughout Ontario, will be hosting an art exhibition and silent auction in Toronto to raise awareness for eating disorders from May 23 to 31.

What you see—and how you feel—are the essence of this exhibition. On display are more than one hundred artworks created by different artists, working in various forms, yet with one common theme: art as the medium to explore and discuss body image. All the art pieces are part of our fundraising silent auction. Attendees are welcome to place bids on their phones.

We aim to challenge our audience to think about the effects of diet culture. The pieces are intended to spark a reaction, be it resonance, joy, discomfort, sadness, or anger. We hope these feelings foster meaningful conversations that challenge social norms and lead to a celebration of the beauty of every unique form.

Opening Night:

Event MC: Michelle Mackey (she/her)

Panel Moderator: Asante Haughton (he/him)

Panelists: Anita Federici (she/her), Kenzie Brenna (she/her) Patricia Hoi Ling Ki(she/her)
