On The Occurrence of Recent Transmissions

Savannah Garvin and Michael Stecky’s On The Occurrence of Recent Transmissions, opens at the Drey Gallery on June 13th.

On The Occurrence of Recent Transmissions features work by edgy newcomer Savannah Garvin and playful Drey stalwart Michael Stecky.

In this exhibition, at the innovative new location, The Drey Gallery will venture further "out there," showing two artists currently obsessed with extraterrestrials and paranormal phenomena.

Brought together by their otherworldly theme, both Garvin and Stecky employ unexpected materials, such as mohair tapestries and repurposed puzzle pieces, to craft alien objects which provoke, amuse and unsettle.

Both artists were hits at recent art fairs in Toronto and New York, with their works rapidly snapped up by local and international collectors.

The Chinatown Centre on Spadina Ave. continues to evolve into a cultural hotbed with its newest occupant, The Drey, a Toronto via Berlin based art gallery helmed by visionary programmer and artist Drew Simpson.

Opening night is Saturday June 13, with a reception at The Drey (222 Spadina Ave, unit #202 Chinatown Centre, 2nd floor) from 4-7pm.

The exhibition will run until July 5th

A free event to attend.
