One of Mauritanias most beloved and adventurous young artists, Noura Mint Seymali hails from a family steeped in musical tradition. She mastered the ardine, a nine-stringed harp, under her grandmothers careful tutelage; her father, a noted music scholar, inspired her love of composing. Seymali has the rare ability to meld ancient melodic traditions with contemporary pop and funk. Her music is powerful, conveying sounds of the Sahara, the Magreb, and West Africa through a global lens.
