Nike Kobe 4 Protro "Lakers" Headlines the 2026 Draft Day Pack

Nike is continuing its celebration of Kobe Bryant’s legendary NBA Draft story with the release of the Kobe 4 Protro "Lakers," one of the standout pairs from the highly anticipated Draft Day Pack arriving this summer.

The release pays tribute to the events of the 1996 NBA Draft, when Bryant was selected 13th overall by the Charlotte Hornets before his rights were traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. That transaction marked the beginning of one of the most iconic careers in basketball history, and Nike’s latest collection honors the teams involved in that journey.

Unlike the other sneakers in the Draft Day Pack, which feature predominantly white uppers inspired by the teams that passed on Bryant, the Lakers edition embraces the franchise’s signature colors. The sneaker is covered in premium gold leather, creating a bold look that immediately stands apart from the rest of the collection.

Purple accents appear throughout the design, including the oversized Swoosh on the lateral side and the Kobe sheath logo on the tongue. Additional Lakers-inspired details can be found on the midsole, which features a unique blend of purple and gold camouflage graphics that further highlight the team's iconic color scheme.

The Kobe 4 Protro "Lakers" is part of Nike’s special blind-box Draft Day Pack, which includes 14 different colorways. Thirteen pairs represent the teams that passed on Bryant during the 1996 NBA Draft, while the Lakers edition celebrates the team that ultimately became his basketball home. As with all blind-box releases, buyers will not know which colorway they receive until opening the package.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro "Lakers" is scheduled to release on June 26, 2026, through Nike and select retailers. Available in unisex sizing, the sneaker will retail for $200.
