Jordan Bennett grew up ice fishing out on the bay with his dad — and it taught him some valuable lessons.

Recently named the BMO Artist of the Year by the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council, Mi’kmaq artist Jordan Bennett has shown his multidisciplinary work in Australia and New York, and in major galleries all over Canada. In 2015 Jordan will represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the Venice Biennial. For this project, Bennett returns to the tiny town he grew up in, Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland.
