Toronto for-Indigenous, by-Indigenous non-profit Na-Me-Res is hosting its fifth annual Day of Remembrance on September 30^th at Hillcrest Park for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 
 
The peaceful community gathering is open to anyone seeking to reflect on and better understand the true history of Canada’s First Nations, Inuit and Metis people, as well as to honour the survivors of, and the children who never returned home from, residential schools.
 
Na-Me-Res’ Day of Remembrance includes a sacred fire and traditional drumming circle as well as speeches from Indigenous community members impacted by residential schools. The event also provides a platform to reignite calls for all levels of government to complete the Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan.
