The Music Gallery turns 40! Come February 11th, we invite you to celebrate with us at our annual fundraiser, this year aptly titled 1976, which was our founding year. With performances by Brigitte Bardon’t and Anne Bourne, a silent auction, 50/50s, new music trivia, and so much more, we’re going to party like it’s 1976, new music-style.

Described as “an earthy unrestrained musical force,” composer Anne Bourne improvises parallel streams of extended cello and voice. Anne is interested in each musical expression being an opportunity for the resolution of difference tones between peoples, landscapes, and individual paradoxes, through listening.

Brigitte Bardon’t is Kristel Jax’s multifaceted pop concretè sound project based in Toronto. Performances combine noise, drone, and pop through live radio manipulations, found sound such as Youtube diaries, and live vocals which rely on melodrama, clichè and kitsch, mimicking operatic ranges and Disney cartoon musicals.
