On September 22 at STILL/ALIVE, come sit in meditation and story, sensing into and noticing our relationships beyond the human world. Facilitators Ariel Sim (More-Than-Human Design) and Trina Moyan (nehiyaw iskwew Plains Cree from the Frog Lake First Nation) will guide an intimate gathering of visitors through multi species noticing exercise, calling on prompts within the exhibit space and a meditative series of questions to extend our listening into the voices of the plants, building materials, and land that holds the art exhibit.

Deepening our noticing into the sculptures in the space, exploring historical uses of plants and materials, Indigenous story and teachings. Exploring the tensions, invitations and story that emerges when natural materials are curated into gallery environments.

Honouring our alignment with Truth and Reconciliation month, sharing what medicinal knowledges were saved through the deep losses of the residential school system. Still/Alive very much aligns with Indigenous peoples and plant knowledge … still here … still alive.

Participants can expect an arc of meditation and grounding into storytelling and sharing, closing with a group discussion.

STILL / ALIVE is a contemporary exhibition bringing together fifteen artist-florist pairs through sculpture, floristry, and site-responsive installation, exploring how beauty lives within the everyday and the creative energy that emerges from collaboration. Presented by 9th Editions and Toronto Flower Market and open for 11 days only from September 17 - 27 at 152 Sterling Rd. in Toronto.
