For countless drummers in Toronto and beyond, Muhtadi was the first teacher to welcome them into the world of African drumming. His classes were open, accessible, and joyful—places where complete beginners discovered a lifelong passion and experienced the transformative power of music and community.

This special edition features a curated lineup of artists who have performed at the festival throughout its history, coming together to honour Muhtadi's extraordinary legacy.
