Like a Mirror, Like a Mother, Like a Memory
A deeply personal exhibition bringing together three bodies of work, Sky, Rain, and Ground, a poetic collaboration that traces the emotional landscape of motherhood, attention, and the passing of time. On view from May 8 to May 10, 2026, at Kikospace (2104 Dundas St W), the exhibition centres on Frances’ evolving practice of capturing fleeting moments and translating them into lasting forms.
“This exhibition is about paying attention to the moments that shape a life,” says Frances. “The quiet ones, the repetitive ones, the ones that pass quickly but stay with you.”
At the core of the exhibition is Frances’ Sky series, a daily painting practice she began on January 1, 2020, at a pivotal moment in her life as a new mother. Amid the intensity of early motherhood, days defined by constant, often invisible acts of care, Frances turned to the sky as both subject and anchor.
