Milk & Brain Frogs @ TOSKETCHFEST
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
MILK! sketch comedy simmers in the awkward moments of daily life, churns the serious cream of humanity into big buttery characters, and ages itself with references to 1990s and 2000s era pop stars and musicians. MILK! walks the line between excruciating awkwardness and satisfying relief.
TROUPE BIO:
MILK! had a frothing hot debut with their full one-hour sketch review directed by Alessandra Vitae. MILK! has performed at Video Cabaret, The Rivoli, The Assembly, Socap, and Sweet Action Theatre. MILK! cast credits include: Evil Dead The Musical, JFL Toronto, Million Dollar Quartet, The Addams Family Musical 2025, Beer Beer Comedy, Second City Conservatory, PAW Patrol, Barney, Handmaids Tale, Designing Christmas, J'ACCUSE, Detroit and Berlin Improv Festival, Das Improv Festival, CBC's 22 Minutes, Diggstown, Kids Vs Aliens and a Theatre Nova Scotia Merritt Award laureate. MILK! was formed after heating 6 improvisers to a temperature of 60° while being continually squirted into a skimmer-centrifuge, which spins at a very high speed. MILK! is dripping with influences from I Think You Should Leave, Aunty Donna, and Baroness Von Sketch Show.
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
Brain Frogs presents their newest revue Brain Frogs vs. Late Stage Capitalism. With the feel of a heartwarming sitcom, Brain Frogs invites you to enjoy a revue that mixes political and observational humour with their cast members' overall social awkwardness. Join them for an evening of sketch comedy specifically for people living under the crippling weight of late stage capitalism. And yes, we did write this on a Macintosh Computer!
TROUPE BIO:
Compared to I Think You Should Leave (by 2 to 4 close friends at their show one time), Brain Frogs are an alternative Canadian force that have come together from three different walks of comedy and parts of the country. Combining Hull, Quebec's Pov Minhas (Toronto Herald), Kelowna, BC's Maddy Atamanchuk (Bad Dog Featured Players) and Leaside, T.O.'s Jim Temple (Hubcap Comedy Festival), Brain frogs have been performing with each other since 2022. They have produced multiple shows at SoCap Theatre, each time presenting a new half-hour, and performed in many shows around the city (including TO Sketch Fest Comedy Cabaret, Cringe Mountain, and Sketch to Death) They were also featured this past year at MTL Sketch Fest (and are still excited about it, OK!). Made up of vastly different people (woman, ginger, and brown) and personalities (desperate, stoned, and reluctant bro), the three Brain Frogs are constantly exploring how they get along and why it just works. When they get together, it's all laughs, HAHAHA! Every time they're on stage, Brain Frogs force the audience to laugh at their dynamic and feel as awkward as they do.
