Toronto-born, Vancouver-based artist Michelle Nguyen enjoys her solo debut at Bau-Xi Gallery Toronto, opening March 24 2018.

Michelle Nguyen’s darkly whimsical paintings explore the body, ephemerality, divine myth, and humor. "Anatomical Venus" explores the power relationships between female bodies, the spaces they occupy, and the characters who observe them through history.

Nguyen hails from Toronto and currently resides in Vancouver. She studied Environmental Design and received her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in 2016.
