Melodic Cascades: T.M.Krishna in Concert

For the first time in over 10 years in the Greater Toronto Area, come and listen to 2024's Sangita Kalanidhi Designate T.M. Krishna, one of the pre-eminent vocalists in the rigorous Carnatic tradition of India's classical music. His tutelage is in a musical form that originated in the southern peninsula of the subcontinent nearly five hundred years ago. He has performed solo in multiple prestigious venues worldwide and has collaborated on stage with creative artists across fields of music, dance, theatre, and poetry – representing both Indian and non-Indian traditions. His concert stage, whether in his hometown of Chennai or anywhere else in the world, is wholly classical but his concert practice is uncompromisingly his own. T.M. Krishna is also a prolific writer and columnist.

T.M. Krishna's distinguished accompanists will be H.N. Bhaskar (Violin) and B.Sivaram (Mrdangam).

Violinist Mysore HN Bhaskar is widely noted for his emotive and adroit playing, and he is one of the most sought after violinists of the present. An acclaimed violinist, he accompanies all the top musicians of the day. Bhaskar has directed and performed in numerous fusion and Jazz shows at reputed venues such as The Carnegie Hall NYC, The Sydney Opera House Australia, and The World Music Fest at Forbidden City in China, with internationally reputed musicians.

Mrdangam Player B. Sivaraman is one of the leading mridangam vidwans in the field of Carnatic music.The winner of numerous awards for his artistry, he has accompanied maestros such as Madurai Sri Somu and Sri TM Thyagarajan and continues to share the stage worldwide with many leading artists of today.
