We're excited to have Mike Mckoy as our dance instructor & co-host - if you've been to Soluna for their Latin nights on Wed evenings - then you already know the energy he brings to the event!! In time to celebrate Asian Heritage Month as we pick an Asian owned venue - the new chic bar on King St - Oria!

Join our May 3rd afternoon event to meet other Toronto singles and also take a 1 hr salsa dance class together! Learn the basic salsa footwork and simple salsa turns and combinations.

The lesson is perfect for beginners but suitable for all levels / genders! No previous dance experience required. You don't need a dance partner - we're hoping to help you meet one!

Who should join? What if I've never danced or taken lessons?

• If you're tired standard speed dating events, try something different and join us!

• If you're interested in Latin dance, learning a new skill, or looking to make new friends - this is the event for you!

The dance portion is only 1 hour and is perfect for all levels, but geared for beginners.

What is the salsa dance lesson like? What can I expect?

• We will do a quick warm up and then teach the basic salsa steps

• You will first learn the basics to dance individually first, and then we will partner up to learn the partnerwork basic steps/combos and rotate partners throughout the lesson so you get practice with different people

• This partner rotation is the reason why you don't need to bring a partner and is the fun way to meet with other singles!

What do I need?

• Apparel - dress up like you're going to a dance party and be date-ready!

• Flat shoes - something you feel comfortable to dance in! If you have actual dance shoes, that's perfect but not required.

Pricing:

There are limited tickets and striving for 50/50 male:female attendance. Typically drop-in dance classes cost $15-$25 and other singles events charge anywhere from $30-$50 and don't include a lesson! It is strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as we often sell out! Drop in rate is $50 (cash or etransfers only) - IF THERE ARE SPOTS LEFT (please contact the organizer first).
