Best known for performing as co-lead guitarist with Prince in his iconic groups 3RDEYEGIRL and New Power Generation, Donna Grantis brings her cutting edge five-piece band, incendiary guitar playing, and much celebrated debut album to the Mod Club Theatre this June.

Named one of fifty sensational female guitarists by Guitar Player Magazine: “Trading blazing solos with the late Purple One on a nightly basis, she proved her mettle, and earned a place in guitar history.” Grantis composed the title track to Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL’s 2014 release PLECTRUMELECTRUM which reached #1 on the Billboard Rock Chart.

Drawing from the spacious, exploratory jazz fusion of groundbreaking albums like Miles Davis’s On the Corner and Bitches Brew, the weaving guitarwork of Santana’s III, and the East Indian influences that coursed through much of psychedelic rock and jazz fusion in the early 1970s, Donna’s new album DIAMONDS & DYNAMITE captures the heightened emotional tenor of the times and reflects her own personal and musical evolution.
