Masked at the Movies presents Harold and Maude

In the decades since its release in 1971, Harold and Maude has endured as a dark comedy cult classic. Directed by Hal Ashby, the film follows Harold (Bud Cort), a depressed 20-year-old with a fixation on funerals and death. When he meets Maude (Ruth Gordon), a septuagenarian with joie de vivre to spare, Harold begins to embrace life in new, unexpected ways.

Harold and Maude is hopeful, funny, and bittersweet with a banger soundtrack written and performed by Cat Stevens. A truly singular film, it is endlessly watchable and full of cinematic delights.
