Angell Gallery is thrilled to host a pop-up exhibition with new paintings by Toronto-based artist Mark Puchala, previously featured in Kim Dorland's curation I PAINT, May, 2014.

This is a FOUR-DAY affair with an opening reception on July 9th, 6 - 8pm. The exhibition will run in the East Gallery until Saturday July 15th.

Leaving a successful career in advertising to pursue his passion in art, Mark Puchala began painting full-time two years ago before catching the attention of dealers and fellow artists such as Kim Dorland and Andr Ethier. Referencing art history, pop culture and everything in between, Puchala's work combines linear cartoon based images painted over more resolved elements, creating and highlighting the tension between the two.

Mark Puchala has headlined two successful solo exhibitions in Toronto in 2012 and 2013, before taking part in Kim Dorland's I PAINT.
