Marcy brings back her popular show to kick off World Pride!
Once upon a time 1989 in a land far, far away The Rose on Parliament Street there was a fearless young misfit Marcy Rogers who braved an entire kingdom made up of stone butches, sports dykes and orthodox feminists to fight for a place for other misfits like herself lipstick lesbians who reserved the right to paint their faces, wear shoes that crippled them but made them tall. Women who like to wear skirts and practice the love that dare not speak it's name femme on femme.
It is now 26 years later and a lot has changed. Nobody cares much what you wear or how you present yourself but Marcy had an itch to revisit the characters that comprised her very first show so she wrote a sequel Lesbians Who Wear Lipstick not a musical this time: The Middle Ages. Who was your favourite character? Was it Punk, Des, Sasha or one of the other 6? Ever stay up nights wondering what happened to them? Now is your chance to find out.
