March Break Tours at the Toronto Railway Museum

Get a sneak peek at our news tours, set to debut this summer. We will be unveiling two new tours for visitors to experience: Tales of the Rails and Mechanical Marvels.

Learn more about why railways were introduced to Toronto in the first place, and how the ever-increasing population impacted train travel as we know it. Along with access to our collection, there will be interactive aspects of the tour and visitors will learn how railways significantly facilitated and enhanced the development of Toronto into the city we know today. The tours on this day will be an oppourtunity for us to test out the script and pacing before the summer season, and we will seek feedback from the visitors who join us on the tours.

Tales of the Rails: Join the Toronto Railway Museum and see how trains and the railways shaped the social landscape of Toronto since their introduction into the region in the early 1800s.

Mechanical Marvels: Discover how railway technology and trains in Toronto were developed and changed the physical landscape of the city.

Each tour will be approximately half an hour long, and will take guests on a walk through the park and into some of the passenger cars and buildings in our collection. Our Tales of the Rails tour will be at 2:00 PM, and our Mechanical Marvels tour will be at 3:00 PM. As with our seasonal guided tours in the summer months, we advise attendees that there will be walking on uneven ground involved, as well as climbing ladders and stairs, so registrants will need to be prepared for this level of physical activity. We would also like to inform prospective attendees that there will be no refunds issued on purchases for the tour unless the event is cancelled by the event organizer.
