My drawings follow the school of Analytical Abstractionism. It employs a process of creating forms from particular to whole, analysing the image rather than synthesizing it. Try to understand not what, but how it’s done. Be interested not in the face of the clock, but in the inner mechanism to understand progression of time.

Making Faces:

Brian Donnelly, Samira El-kassis, Shannon Lively-Brochu and Marnie White

Utilizing traditional media the artists in Making Faces have embraced realism and all of the time consuming labour it entails to explore contemporary themes. These portraits focus on the elusive. They work through questions about human nature, self-reflection and the role of the artist.
