Justin Gray’s Synthesis

Justin Gray’s Synthesis is a creative world music ensemble that explores elements of traditional Indian raga music in a contemporary format. The ensemble is led by award winning bassist and composer Justin Gray on bass veena, an instrument he designed and co-created in 2010. The group also features renowned Canadian virtuoso Ed Hanley on tabla, and creative percussionist Derek Gray on Tibetan singing bowls. Together, these artists forge a unique cross-cultural blend of melodies and grooves, which draw inspiration from the past while remaining connected to the present.
