ABOUT
In this instrumental workshop, Martin will teach klezmer tunes that are played for Yiddish folk dancing. Emphasis will be placed on playing in a way that supports and responds to dancers' tempo for an enjoyable experience. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to take a Yiddish dance workshop 2 weeks later (with the option to play the tunes learned in this workshop live for the dancers, or learn the Yiddish dances to which you previously learned the tunes!) This workshop is geared towards musicians who know how to play their instrument (intermediate+), but all levels are welcome to join! No previous klezmer experience necessary.
This is workshop is part of A KLEZMER INSTRUMENTAL & YIDDISH DANCE WORKSHOP SERIES. Tickets to individual workshops -OR- full series passes to all 3 workshops available at https://bit.ly/KlezmerDance

-- Please note that the rest of the building outside the workshop will likely have unmasked individuals and there may be unmasked individuals at this event who have talked to us ahead of time about not being able to mask. The workshop facilitator may be unmasked.
