Karen Dalton: In My Own Time

Playing in cinema & online (as of Nov 16)

An underrated force of the 1960s New York folk scene, singer Karen Dalton has been a muse for countless generations of musicians, from Bob Dylan and Nick Cave to Lucinda Williams and Joanna Newsom. Discarding the traditional trapping of success, Karen led an unconventional and often turbulent life until her untimely death at age 55. She finally gets the recognition she deserves in this rich portrait woven together from her dulcet blues melodies and interviews with loved ones. Infused with her musical spirit, In My Own Time pays tribute to a singular woman and artist whose hauntingly beautiful voice still resonates to this day.
