John Simone's Photographic Voyages - 300 photographs - 50 Countries - Five Continents
John Simone’s Photographic Voyages is a major photography exhibition presented during Nuit Rose Festival 2026 at Toronto’s Youngplace Arts Centre.
The exhibition features 300 photographs captured across 50 countries and five continents, exploring shared humanity, culture, architecture, ritual, performance, spirituality, humour, street life, and everyday moments from around the world. Drawn from years of international travel and documentary photography, the exhibition transforms the gallery into an immersive visual journey through global observation and storytelling.
John Simone first became known for documenting New York nightlife and celebrity culture during the late 1980s, and later spent five years travelling internationally as Senior Photographer and Photography Teacher aboard Princess Cruises.
“I’m not interested in capturing the world,” says Simone. “I’m interested in catching it in the act.”
Simone’s work has appeared in exhibitions including The Last Party: Nightworld in Photographs at the Serge Sorokko Gallery in San Francisco, Subterranean Society in New York City, and previous exhibitions at Nuit Rose in Toronto.
Timed to coincide with Toronto’s international summer cultural season and increased global tourism during the FIFA World Cup, John Simone’s Photographic Voyages presents journeys through street life, remote landscapes, architecture, performance, spirituality, and human connection across five continents.
