Jewellery Upcycling

Join Toronto jewellery designer and artisan, Lara Bazant and explore the principles of jewellery design, deconstruction and reconstruction. Gain an introduction to tools and materials (stringing and metals). Learn basic string and wire working techniques: measuring, cutting, filing, and shaping. Enjoy hands on training with individual attention and take home your completed pieces! Also leave with a list of tools and resources and a instructions for the techniques covered in the workshop.

Students should bring one or several pieces of costume jewellery that they wish to reconstruct. Beaded or chain pieces work best. Broken jewellery, singular earrings, rings, brooches, loose beads and non-circulating coins can also be used. Pieces can be brought from home or purchased from a thrift shop. Other materials included.

No experience necessary.

Workshop fee: $55
