Five men have spent nearly 30 years combined in Canadian prisons. None of them has seen the evidence against them. None of them has been charged with a crime.

Join Amar Wala, Toronto-based director of Secret Trial 5, as he chats about his newest film and Security Certificates a tool that allows for indefinite detention in Canada with no charges and secret evidence.

Also featuring a special screening of The Good Son, including a special guest and Q&A.;

This event will be held at the Centre for Social Innovation Annex located at 720 Bathurst St. in downtown Toronto. Event starts at 6:30PM. Please note there is limited seating.

ABOUT AMAR WALA Director and Producer:

Amar is an emerging filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. He was born in Bombay, India, and moved to Toronto with his family at the age of 11. He has a degree in Film Production from York University, and believes deeply in cinemas ability to create awareness and facilitate change. His short film, The Good Son 2008, had its world premiere at The 4th Annual Dubai International Film Festival, and went on to screen at festivals around the world and win several awards in Canada. The Secret Trial 5 is Amars first feature film and had its World Premiere at Hot Docs in 2014.
