Introduction to Printmaking - A Visual Arts Course for Adults

Students will learn the basics of relief and etching techniques. They will learn how to carve lino blocks, create colourful prints with chine colle, dry point etching and monotype. Suitable for anyone that enjoys hands-on art making. No experience necessary. Materials not included. Please bring the following items to class: Printmaking ink (fabric printmaking ink is the most versatile, two colours recommended), Strathmore 300 Printmaking Pad (size 11x14), Speedball speedy-carve lino block (size 6x12), clear acrylic sheet (also called plexiglass - 8x10 of 2mm thickness) and newsprint pad (size 18x24). Register online via the City of Toronto's FUN guide (no class on November 4).
