The first course in our new series of sewing clothing for beginners! Lounge Pants with an elastic waistband are the perfect 1st garment project.

Not only are they comfy and lounge-y… making these basic pants will help you conceptualize how garments come together (eg: which 2-D shapes turn into which 3-D silhouettes — pattern drafting skills!).

You’ll also learn how to French Seam — seriously levelling up your sewing game.

The style is unisex, and all sizes / bodies welcome. Choose either Wide-Leg OR Tapered Leg and there are loads of gorgeous, high-quality fabric options to choose from. As always, ALL materials are included.

Use a 1/4” seam foot

Create an elastic waistband

Assemble pants!

Skill Level: You should have completed Intro to Sewing 1 (or equivalent) and be comfortable sewing 1/2” seams, doublefold / turn + turn hems, using a zig zag stitch, edge-stitching, pivoting.

Class Size: 6 people
