Didgori Ensemble from the Republic of Georgia (Caucasus) will teach Georgian folk/choral/polyphonic vocal music, a three-part musical tradition marked by immense physical energy, thrilling harmonic progressions, complex improvised counterpoint, and resounding vocal power that has to be experienced to be believed. This is the first time a choir from Georgia has toured Canada since the 1970s. Didgori is one of the best performing ensembles in Georgia today and this is a rare opportunity to learn from these master singers.
