Geechi Suede and Sonny Cheeba, better known as Bronx hip-hop duo Camp Lo, formed in 1995. Their critically acclaimed albums Uptown Saturday Night, Lets Do It Again, and Black Hollywood have achieved status on the Billboard Charts and have made the duo one of the most respected groups in hip-hop to date.

Camp Lo rose to prominence in 1996 on The Great White Hype soundtrack, with the single Coolie High, peaking at 25 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart, but it wasnt until their debut album, Uptown SaturdayNight, that garnered them respect and critical acclaim. Luchini AKA This Is It, the albums hit track, was a crossover chart-topper, reaching the top 5 on the Hot Rap Singles Chart and breaking into the top 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. Produced by Ski Beatz, who is often considered to be the third member of Camp Lo, the effort was widely acclaimed, praised for its light accessible content and smooth funk- and jazz-inspired production.

As a team, Ski, Suede and Cheeba create a soul sound reminiscent of legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Marvin Gaye. The vintage yet timeless music has served as an influence to many major players in the hip-hop and rap industry. Signed first with Profile and then Arista Records, they have collaborated with Will Smith, Oran Juice Jones, Aesop Rock, and 9th Wonder.

For their most recent project, 80 Blocks From Tiffanys, Camp Lo has partnered with legendary producer Pete Rock as well as DJ Mark DiVita and Trackstar the DJ, forming a hip-hop supergroup. Vol. 1 spawned the first official single and video, "Mic Check", launching Camp Lo and Bronx hip-hop back into the public eye. Vol. 2 continues the journey with all original songs produced by Pete Rock and features Talib Kweli, Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, M.O.P., Uncle Murda, and soul singer Tyler Woods. With 80 Blocks, Camp Lo is on the forefront of the renaissance of true-skool hip-hop, and remains on the cutting edge of the genre theyve dominated for the last two decades.
