Harvest Wednesdays Sip and Savour: Taste of Parkdale

Harvest Wednesdays is a local culinary series inspired by the Gladstone’s long-time investment in four ‘shares’ of a local Community Shared Agriculture Farm, Chick-a-biddy Acres Farms. By showcasing their local produce each week alongside guest chefs, community organizations and local producers, Harvest Wednesdays sparks conversations about Community Shared Agriculture, eating locally for global change, bridging the gap between urban and rural and of course, enjoying seasonal Ontario produce, picked from the land just the day before.

You're invited to our beloved Harvest Wednesday's Sip and Savour event in the Gallery, featuring tastings from 15+ local producers! With sampling stations set up around the second floor gallery space, you can sip and savour local wines, meats, cheeses and specialty foods along with Hors D’oeuvres prepared by the Gladstone’s executive Chef Katie Venables Lloyd.

In the spirit of Harvest Wednesdays, this Sip and Savour connects urbanites with rural producers by incorporating produce from Chick-a-biddy Acres with the restaurants and producers from our own backyard: Parkdale! Parkdale is a rich and culturally diverse neighbourhood with equally diverse food offerings. From Tibetan treats to artisanal jams to breweries that are as local as it gets, there is something for everyone! We’ve invited some of our West End faves to showcase the multifaceted tastes of our beloved neighbourhood, all the while incorporating produce from Sherry’s farm. Let’s bridge the gap between urban and rural. Come hungry!

West End Food Co-Op will speak at the event. They are a not-for-profit cooperative in Parkdale that seeks to provide viable food security that uniquely meets the needs of Toronto's west end food communities.

Participating producer list coming soon!

About Harvest Wednesdays

From August 24 to October 12, we invite you to connect with Ontario’s growing season through a Harvest Table Dinner in the Ballroom or a Sip and Savour in the Gallery. Check out all the dates below!

What is Community Shared Agriculture (C.S.A.)

Community Shared Agriculture allows city residents to have direct access to high quality, fresh produce grown locally by regional farmers. When you become a member of a CSA, you're purchasing a “share” of vegetables from a regional farmer. It is a relationship of shared bounty and shared risk.
