Gluten Free Garage

Toronto’s one-day food festival, Gluten Free Garage, celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Gluten Free Garage takes place during Celiac Awareness Month and draws a crowd of more than 3,000 people who come to discover and taste the best in gluten-free.

Everything is strictly gluten-free, but you don’t have to be!

WHEN: Sunday, May 28 from 10am-5pm

WHERE: Artscape Wychwood Barns (601 Christie St.)

ABOUT: For a decade, this festival has been leading the charge in bringing delicious gluten-free food and drink to the masses.

You can enjoy more than 70 curated vendors, food trucks, demos and libations. The booths are filled with sought-after gluten-free offerings—from freshly baked goods, frozen treats and savoury made-to-order dishes to cultural delights including arancini, tacos and pupusas to beer and more.

The Festival Gives Back! The festival’s annual food drive will be run by Celiac Canada, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year. All food drive donations will be benefiting the Daily Bread Food Bank’s allergen-free pantry.

The food is carefully vetted for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance allowing this farmers’-market-like food festival to be a place where they can indulge without worry and connect with others.

"Back when I started Gluten Free Garage, many people were writing off ‘gluten free’ as a trend. But our 10th anniversary and the growth of the event over the years is proof to me that the gluten-free lifestyle is a necessity for an increasing number of people,” says Gluten Free Garage founder RonniLyn Pustil. “Not only has gluten free come a long way, it looks like it’s here to stay.”
