Getting Started with Game Maker

Explore game design without coding at this one-hour hands on workshop!

Presented by Indesology and Stage Select Gaming Expo, Getting Started with Game Maker is for anyone who wants to learn how to make digital games.

You will learn how to:

- Use Game Maker tools

- Create sprites and objects

- Make objects interactive

- Incorporate your own art assets

By the end of the 60 minutes, you will have made your own brick breaker game!

Location: 720 Bathurst st. in meeting room 1 2nd floor.

This introductory crash course requires no programming knowledge, Game Maker software is easy-to-learn and can produce amazing games - Hotline Miami, Spelunky, Home, Nidhogg and many more games were made with Game Maker!

Christine explores the intersections between art and games as a maker and curator. Christine has spoken at conferences across North America and as an invited speaker at the Art Gallery of Ontario. As an independent curator, Christine organizes video game events, having been involved with Vector Game Art Festival and currently as co-founder of Stage Select, an annual convention dedicated to games and gaming culture.
