George Brown College: 50 X 50 Photo Exhibition
To celebrate George Brown College’s 50th anniversary the college’s School of Immigrant and Transitional Education is hosting the 50x50 Photo Exhibition which celebrates 50 years of immigrants whose lives have been shaped by their education at George Brown College. The exhibit runs May 1st – May 30th, 2018 in the main lobby of George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus as part of the 2018 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.
This event is free and open to the general public. Through a series of portraits taken by 50 photographers, the exhibition showcases 50 successful George Brown College alumni, who were once newcomers to Canada. The exhibition demonstrates how the college has made an impact in the lives of many Canadian immigrants, capturing the diversity of both the college and the city over the past five decades. The top prize for best photo will be announced at a special event / reception to be hosted on May 10, 2018. All four selections will be displayed externally at the Waterfront Campus.
