Fundraising Dinner for Peshawar, Pakistan massacre survivors

MISSISSAUGA, ON – On January 17, 2015, at 7pm, the Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals of Toronto (CAMP Toronto) will host a fundraising dinner at Payal Banquet Hall. In one night, CAMP Toronto sets out to raise $20,000 for the survivors of the Peshawar school massacre.

“The funds will be used to coordinate counselling and support services through the International Pediatric Association (IPA),” explains CAMP Toronto President Farheen Khan.

Working directly with doctors on the ground in Peshawar, Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta, president-elect of the IPA will be the evening’s keynote speaker. “There were over 1,000 children (at the school), and many survivors,” he clarifies. “When they come in, how do they deal with the environment, the memories, the shock, the trauma?”
