Dance-crazed Tracy Turnblad is determined to appear on her favourite rock-and-roll showdespite any number of obstacles including her hesitant mother, crusading moralists and the entrenched racism of 1962 Baltimore. A rollicking big-screen version of the stage musical adaptation of John Waters magnificently weird 1988 comedy, Hairspray is a bright, bouncy delight. Feel free to sing along.
