Food Truck'N Friday

Food Truck’N Friday will be back starting April 1 for another spectacular season of good eats and curbside treats, this time featuring an even greater number of food trucks and fabulous prizes worth thousands of dollars.

Now in its sophomore year, Etobicoke’s premier food truck event located at 1 Resurrection Road will kick off the 2016 season with three dates in April: April 1, 15 and 29. The inaugural event will feature a lineup of mobile kitchens never before seen at Food Truck’N Friday, including: Shopsy’s Food Truck, Delight Bite, Fully Loaded T.O, I Love Lasagna, Jerk Brothers, and The Arepa Republic, the first and only arepa truck in Canada.

“We wanted to make a big splash for our first event in 2016, and the best way to do that was to invite a brand new lineup of Toronto’s top food trucks,” said Jason Bellissimo, Director of Sales & Marketing of J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc., and Founder of Food Truck’N Friday. “With this group of trucks alone, people can sample everything from specialty lasagna and stuffed chicken wings to authentic jerk chicken and Venezuelan street eats. It will be a culinary journey around the world, all conveniently located on one street corner!”

Food Truck’N Friday is free to attend and takes place rain or shine. Space heaters courtesy of Barbeque Pro will be available on site to help combat the unpredictable spring weather. To entice foodies even further, three 1-month gym memberships will be awarded at each event in April, courtesy of Xtreme Couture. A grand prize MMA & Fitness membership, valued at $1,400, will be awarded to one lucky winner on April 29. Winners will be chosen at random.

Offering everything from strength and cardio training to boot camps, Zumba and kettleboxing, Xtreme Couture in Etobicoke returns this season as a valued community partner. According to Bellissimo, efforts this year will focus largely on working alongside local businesses to promote not only Toronto’s top food trucks, but also the City of Etobicoke.

“We’re so lucky to have partnered with businesses like Xtreme Couture and Barbecue Pro who are just as invested in the city of Etobicoke as we are,” added Bellissimo. “This year, we look forward to establishing even more long-term relationships with Etobicoke’s finest and continuing that tradition of community outreach so that season two of Food Truck’N Friday will be even better than the first!”

Food Truck’N Friday runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1 in the parking lot at Bloor St. W. and Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station. Plenty of free parking is available.
