Food Truck'N Friday
Food Truck’N Friday is turning 20 with a bang, returning to its primary residence in Etobicoke following a successful one-day special event at Humberview Chevrolet last week.
The bi-weekly food truck event, which first debuted almost exactly a year ago, will be hosting its 20th edition on Friday, July 22 with a jam-packed lineup featuring 10 of southern Ontario’s most popular food trucks. These include: Caplansky’s, Untamed Chef, Wickedly Sinful, Caribbean Authentic, Road Grill, La Novela, The Arepa Republic, Fully Loaded T.O., Wanna Burger, and Che.
More Than Pies, a popular bakery, market and café in Etobicoke, will be returning to the delight of fans, while Burlington-based Hippie Pops, which makes homemade, vegan paletas (Latin American-inspired fruit popsicles) will also be participating at the event for the first time.
“When we first launched over a year ago, we started with just a handful of food trucks and a smattering of foodies in attendance,” said Jason Bellissimo, Director of Sales & Marketing of J.B. Innovative Solutions Inc., and founder of Food Truck’N Friday. “Now, we’re bigger, better and still the only one of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area. It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come and how much we’ve grown now that we’re turning 20. Time flies when you’re eating and having fun!”
Bellissimo attributes much of its success to valued community partners, including Green 3 Technologies, a leading provider of ozone odour removal and purification products, and Mississauga-based Colorworks Express Autobody Centers, which will once again be offering a 10% discount on all body work with the promo code FTF16. Coming onboard as partners for the first time are Mississauga-based JB Courier, which has been providing rush delivery service to the GTA for over 35 years, and Islington Village Child Care Centre, a daycare centre located in the heart of Islington Village.
“We consider our community partners as more than just local businesses,” adds Bellissimo. “They’re friends and fellow foodies who share our love of community. Their expertise and support go a long way in making Food Truck’N Friday the community-driven, must-see event that it’s become.”
Food Truck’N Friday is Etobicoke’s premier, bi-weekly food truck event, free to attend and takes place bi-weekly, rain or shine, in the parking lot at Bloor St. W. and Resurrection Road, just west of Islington subway station. The June July 22nd event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and lasts until 10:00 p.m. Plenty of free parking is available.
