Fluxfest Toronto 2019

Running from Friday June 21st through Sunday June 23rd Fluxfest Toronto is a performance art festival in the tradition of Fluxus. Fluxus started in the 1960s and continues to be an influence on art and artists to the present day. Beatles fans might remember Fluxus as the art movement that Yoko Ono was involved in when she met John Lennon.

The festival begins with an exciting triple-art opening at the SHELDON ROSE GALLERY at 1710 Avenue Road on Friday June 21st, where there will be a PRIDE themed mail art show in honour of Pride Month, an exhibition and sale of small scale paintings, and a performance art show featuring an international roster of contemporary Fluxus performance artists.

On Saturday the performers move to the Regent Theatre at 551 Mt Pleasant Rd. for a pay-what-you-can afternoon of performance art. This all happens during the Mount Pleasant Village Shop, Wine, & Dine event.

Guests and audience members are invited to join the performers again at the Toronto Parade on Sunday afternoon.
