The year was 1890, and the University College Literary and Scientific Society was hard at work setting up for its annual Valentine's Day formal, Conversazione. Suddenly, our beloved college was ablaze; a tragedy attributed to a dropped oil lantern in the southeast staircase. Though University College fell physically to ruin that evening, no fire could diminish our spirits. We pay tribute to our rebirth from the ashes by gathering annually for Fireball.

It is the absolute pleasure of the The University College Literary and Athletic Society to invite you to a night of wonder and magic. Fireball 2016 will take you back to a time where all you needed to do was turn the page to enter another world. Remember the friends you could make and the unimaginable life you could live without ever leaving your room.

The Magic of Fiction will bring the following worlds to life in UC: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Dr. Seuss, The Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Peter Pan, Goosebumps, and Narnia!

Some exciting features of this year's Fireball include:

-A complimentary Fireball 2016 bookmark with each Fireball ticket sale

-Complimentary photographs at the Gryphon staircase, complements of Luxarte Photography

-Waltz and Salsa Dancing in Room 163

-Two large chocolate fountains in Croft Chapter House

-Butterbeer in Room 376

-Four bars scattered throughout the building a wristband policy will be enforced

-A sketch comedy show and interacting characters presented by the UC Follies

-A two-block ice sculpture in Croft Chapter House

-Live bands and acoustic performers in the Junior Common Room and East Hall

-A full-course buffet dinner in East Hall

Early Bird ticket pricing is available online until December 31st at 11:59pm. Prices will increase $5 at midnight on January 1, 2016. Booklet ticket sales will begin in the UC Lit office during week days and outside Howard Ferguson Dining Hall in the evenings starting on Monday, January 18th. We will only accept refunds for online ticket sales.

For tickets bought online, your complementary bookmark and ticket booklet will be available at the UC Lit Office after January 18, 2016. You may also pick them up on the night of Fireball.

Formal dress code recommended, but not mandatory.
